January 8, 2018

Stephen P. Testa, Jr. has been appointed president of Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, bringing his extensive philanthropic experience to one of America’s leading pediatric institutions.

Testa joined Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation in 2014 as Senior Vice President and Executive Director.  Prior to Nationwide Children’s, he served as Assistant Vice President at the Valley Health System Foundation in New Jersey and Director of Major Gifts at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He started his career as a fundraising consultant at CCS Fundraising.

“We are very enthused to have Steve Testa leading the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation,” notes Ann Wolfe, Chair of the Hospital’s Be the Reason Campaign and Nationwide Children’s Board of Trustees member.  “He has already established very strong relationships with our donor community resulting in several significant gifts.  Steve’s commitment to Nationwide Children’s mission is evident in all his actions and we could have no better leader to guide this important next era for our Foundation."

Educated at the Catholic University of America, Testa has also received a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.  An acknowledged leader in the industry, he has presented at numerous conferences including the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) International, Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and others.  Testa will continue grow the Foundation’s fundraising footprint, strengthen corporate partnerships, and foster relationships with donors.

“Philanthropy has a rich history within our organization and as clinical and research efforts expand, fundraising plays an ever more important role in our ability to fulfill Nationwide Children's mission to help children everywhere,” said Nationwide Children’s CEO Steve Allen, MD. “The in-depth knowledge of children’s hospitals and academic medicine that Steve brings to this role positions him well to build on our Foundation's success in securing critical funds and advancing our work.”
