Audition Registration Now Open for Mary Poppins the Broadway Musical

September 15, 2015

To raise funds for central Ohio’s only pediatric hospice and palliative care program, Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital will present Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins March 11-13 at Columbus’ historic Palace Theatre, 34 W. Broad St.

With more than 20 years of performances at the Palace Theatre, Mary Poppins is Pleasure Guild’s 59th production. The annual family-friendly play is Pleasure Guild’s feature fund-raising event. Since the organization’s inception, Pleasure Guild has contributed more than $4 million to Nationwide Children’s.

“We are delighted for the opportunity to support the Hospice and Palliative Care program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for yet another year,” Pleasure Guild President Carrie DiNovo said. “Our goal this year will be to increase the support for Hospice and Palliative Care as well as bring awareness to the community on this amazing resource right in our own back yard. The Hospice and Palliative Care program touches its patients and families’ lives when they need it the most. The program provides medical, emotional, spiritual, and logistical resources for these special families. Every smile we give and every moment we spend giving to this program is worth so very much. It is truly our pleasure to be involved in supporting a program that provides warmth and comfort during the most trying of times.”

About Pleasure Guild
Pleasure Guild, a woman’s auxiliary of Nationwide Children's Hospital, dates back to 1908. The organization is dedicated to raising funds, more than $200,000 annually, for central Ohio’s only pediatric hospice and palliative care program. The money Pleasure Guild raises goes to support crucial services for children facing terminal and life-limiting illnesses. The hospice team offers life enhancing services such as an on-call nurse 24/7, massage therapy, chaplain services, emotional counseling and grief counseling for the families for up to two years after the child’s passing. But perhaps, most importantly, it allows these children to remain comfortably at home, rather than in a hospital.
