Fifteen Local Pizza Shops Raise Funds for Pediatric Research at Slice of Columbus

September 9, 2014

Slice of Columbus is back for its 25th anniversary year as Columbus’ largest pizza event slated 5 p.m.-9 p.m.  on Wednesday, Sept.17, 2014 at the Columbus Commons in Downtown Columbus. Fifteen area pizza shops will dish up their most savory pies to support pediatric research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Back by popular demand is the “People’s Choice Award.” An atmosphere of “Giving Back” is always the main focus for the pizza shops and they will do their best to raise significant dollars together. These generous shops are: Adriatico’s, Borgata Pizza Café, Café Napolitana, Creno’s, Cowtown, Donatos, Jet’s, La Rosa’s, Mikey’s Late Night Slice, Luna Pizza Kitchen, Pizza Rustica, Romeo’s, Sparano’s, O H Pizza and Brew and zPizza. All of these shops are winners in the hearts of the children and families we serve.

Slice of Columbus is organized by the Development Board of Nationwide Children’s with all proceeds benefitting the hospital. Since its inception more than two decades ago, Slice of Columbus has raised $800,000 for Nationwide Children’s.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample pizza from each shop and vote for their favorite, dance to live entertainment by the Bug Hounds, enjoy crafts beers and wine from Heidelberg Distributing, as well as have lots of fun in our children’s area filled with bounce houses, arts and crafts, miniature golf and so much more.
