Fall Under the Spell of Neverland: Peter Pan Comes to Life at Palace Theatre

October 8, 2012

To raise funds for central Ohio’s only pediatric hospice and palliative care program  Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital will present Peter Pan March 8-10, 2012 at Columbus’ historic Palace Theatre, 34 West Broad Street. The annual family-friendly, Broadway-quality production benefits children for whom a cure is beyond reach.

With more than 20 years of performances at the Palace Theatre, Peter Pan is Pleasure Guild’s 56th production. The annual play is Pleasure Guild’s feature fundraising event. Pleasure Guild members presented a check totaling $468,249 to the hospital in 2012. Since the organization’s inception, Pleasure Guild has contributed more than $4 million to the hospital.

“Pleasure Guild is proud to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital and to serve families in their greatest time of need,” said Colleen Adkins, president of Pleasure Guild. “We are thrilled to announce Peter Pan as this year’s play and lead fundraiser. Every ticket sold makes a difference.”

Peter Pan is the tale that never ages. Children and adults alike have fallen under the spell of Neverland, a place where children can fly and where exciting adventures happen every day. Adapted for the stage more than 25 years ago, Peter Pan is well known, loved and performed worldwide. Published by Samuel French (London) it is now one of the most popular shows of all times and is a must see for all ages. The ever-popular characters will be there - Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael, Captain Hook and his sidekick Smee, Tiger Lily, the Lost Boys, pirates, Neverland indians, fairies, Nana the pet dog and, of course, the scary crocodile.
