Pleasure Guild Announces Nearly $350,000 Donation to Nationwide Childrens Hospital

July 20, 2011

Pleasure Guild, a 103-year-old organization committed to raising funds for Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Hospice and Palliative Care program, recently presented a check totaling $346,238.20 to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Pleasure Guild’s donation will benefit children for whom a cure is beyond reach and is directed toward paying for the uncompensated expenses of the Hospice and Palliative Care program at Nationwide Children’s. The services are typically provided in a child’s home to keep the child comfortable and provide spiritual and emotional support to the child and their family.

“We’re honored and humbled to give back to our local community,” said Miranda Roberts, president of Pleasure Guild. "Funds raised by our organization allow families to tend to their children eliminating financial difficulties associated with their care. Every dollar makes a difference.”

Since the organization’s inception, Pleasure Guild has contributed more than $4 million to the hospital.

In addition to individual and corporate contributions, the women of Pleasure Guild organize and participate in several fundraisers throughout the year, including Once Upon a Night, a black-tie gala; and SPAGIO: A Celebration of Wine, Food and Dining with the Stars. Additionally, Pleasure Guild’s largest fundraiser is a professionally directed family production held annually in March at the Palace Theatre in Columbus. Next March, Pleasure Guild will present “Seussical”.

Pleasure Guild also recently announced its 2011-12 Board of Directors, which consists of a talented group of women all from the central Ohio area. Board members serve a one-year term.
