Rock N Bowl Slated for February 5; Team Registration Open

December 20, 2010

Winter in central Ohio is a great time for indoor activities. What better way to spend a cold, snowy day than a day filled with bowling fun all while supporting a good cause. Rock ‘N Bowl 2011 will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace – 5707 Forest Hills Blvd. (43231). The event, organized by the Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and presented by the Columbus Bar Foundation, supports child abuse treatment and prevention programs at the Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children’s.

No need to be in a league to participate. Simply organize a team of five friends, family members or coworkers for two hours of friendly bowling competition. Raise a minimum of $500 and your team will receive long-sleeve shirts and gift bags. In addition, all teams are invited to attend the pre-bowling reception one hour before bowl-time. Mix and mingle with other teams and enjoy complimentary food and beverages.

The day includes QFM96’s Wags and Elliot spinning the tunes, children’s activities for all ages, raffles with prizes and the grand 50/50 raffle. Last year’s Rock ‘N Bowl welcomed more than 750 participants and raised more than $100,000 for the Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children’s.

Bowling sessions are 12:30 – 2 p.m.; 3 – 5 p.m.; and 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Check-in begins at noon, 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. for the first, second and third sessions respectively.

Teams can register online at www.NationwideChildrens.org/RockNBowl. Deadline for registration is Friday, January 28. Bowling times are first come, first serve. Teams may also send a $20 registration deposit to:
