On Sunday, September 26, runners and walkers from around central Ohio will help support Nationwide Children’s Hospital at the Race for the Kids 5K Run/Walk in Upper Arlington. The race is sponsored by Children’s Miracle Network which raises money for children’s hospitals across the United States. All monies raised from this race will stay local and support Nationwide Children’s.

In its fourth year, Race for the Kids supports the mission of Nationwide Children’s, and is becoming a favorite community event. In fact, one Upper Arlington resident knows how important it is to raise money for Nationwide Children’s. Adam Oliver not only teaches and coaches in Upper Arlington, but is also a parent of a child that has been in and out of Nationwide Children’s over the past three years. As the honorary chair, Adam continues to support this race and its goal of raising funds for Nationwide Children’s.

The 5K race will take runners through Upper Arlington while beginning and finishing on the track at Jones Middle School. There is also a ¼ mile Fun Run for kids under 10 years old. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag and refreshments at the end of the race. Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female participants as well as the top three male and female participants in more than 12 age groups.
