This is the first year that Macy’s has been a part of the Memorial Tournament Bears for Children’s program which provides hospital patients with a new teddy bear.

The Bears for Children’s campaign at participating central Ohio Macy’s locations ran in May and June during the Memorial Tournament. Bears are being donated to Nationwide Children’s from customer purchases of $100 or more on Memorial Tournament-related merchandise at Macy’s.

Since 1976, the Memorial Tournament has raised more than $6 million to support the programs and services at Nationwide Children’s. In May of 2005, the Memorial Tournament announced a multi-year pledge with Nationwide Children’s, extending a successful 30-year partnership with the hospital as the Tournament’s primary charitable beneficiary. In recognition of the Memorial’s pledge, which will elevate their level of giving to more than $11 million in the coming years, Nationwide Children’s dedicated its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in honor of the Tournament.
