Circle of Friends, a volunteer organization supporting Nationwide Children’s Hospital, will host its 8th Annual Run for the Rainbow 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run Friday, June 18 at New Albany Market Square, 180 Market St., New Albany, Ohio.
Proceeds from Run for the Rainbow benefit pediatric cancer research at The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Over the past 16 years, Circle of Friends has raised nearly $1.5 million for the fight against pediatric cancer.
This year, the event includes the addition of a competitive walk, chip timing for competitive races and all participants will receive a technical shirt.
Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. with races beginning at 6:40 p.m. (Kids Fun Run), 7 p.m. (5K Competitive Run), 7:05 p.m. (5K Competitive Walk) and 7:10 (5K Non-Competitive Run/Walk). Registration fees are $15 for the Kids Fun Run and $25 for the 5K Run/Walk. After June 9, registration is $20 and $30 respectively. Awards will be given to the top finishers in each race.
