Mimi the Mermaid and the Pearl Necklace is a book born out of the imagination and creativity of two sisters, 9 year-old Sydney and 7-year Jordan.

Assisted by their mother, the girls endeavored to create a story with a positive message about a mermaid girl and her realization of beauty and self-worth.

This whimsical tale takes you on a journey into the deep blue ocean with Mimi the Mermaid. From the discovery of a pearl, Mimi learns about one of nature’s best treasures…herself. Traveling through this vibrantly illustrated underwater world, the story promotes discussions about self esteem, the meaning of beauty, and friendship.

The authors have arranged for the initial proceeds from book sales to benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the authors’ hometown of Columbus, Ohio. The funds will support the Reach Out and Read literacy program. For more information, please visit: http://www.nationwidechildrens.org and http://www.nationwidechildrens.org/reach-out-and-read.
