ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Makennah Shoemaker of Minerva, Ohio, will celebrate her 3rd birthday Thursday, April 22 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This is not the first birthday Makennah, born prematurely, has celebrated in the hospital. In fact, little Makennah has never celebrated her birthday outside the walls of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Nationwide Children’s – and she isn’t the first nor the last.

Every day, nurses, doctors and staff at Nationwide Children’s celebrate patients’ birthdays – birthdays that are marked with big celebrations as each is a reminder of the strength and courage of these kids and the lifesaving care the hospital provides.

That’s why Velvet Ice Cream Company has teamed up with Nationwide Children’s by introducing its newest flavor, Birthday Cake Ice Cream. A portion of the proceeds from every carton sold will benefit Nationwide Children’s, and help make more birthdays possible for patients like Makennah. Velvet’s Birthday Cake Ice Cream is currently available in stores in the Midwest region.

Come and celebrate with us as we mark Makennah’s 3rd birthday and sample Velvet’s Birthday Cake Ice Cream!
