Each year, there are more than one million visits to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Each patient goes through their own journey, and has their own story to tell. Nationwide Children’s has created Flutter, a platform where families can share their stories and find comfort in knowing others have shared similar experiences.
Currently, Flutter features more than 150 parent- and patient-submitted stories representing hundreds of conditions ranging from stitches treated in a day, to lifelong conditions like adult congenital heart disease. Its goal is to be a space where patients and parents can find those who share their struggles, victories and everything in between, as a way to allow families the chance to take comfort in seeing the stories of others who have been in their shoes.
Flutter stories include patients as young as four months and as old as 51 years. Anyone who has had an experience with Nationwide Children’s can share their story. Whether a family has endured a cancer battle, participated in a research study, or passed through Nationwide Children’s urgent care to treat a broken bone on vacation, every story matters – because every child matters.
Patients and parents can view existing stories and submit their own stories here.
