Biography

Samantha Sheldon, CTRS, is a graduate of the University of Toledo and holds a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy and a master’s degree in recreation administration. Samantha has worked at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for 4 years in various areas of acute care, but has transitioned to primarily working with behavioral health in the last 3 years.

Prior to working at Nationwide Children's, Samantha primarily worked in long-term care as an activities director in Pennsylvania for 2 years. Samantha currently works as a certified therapeutic recreation specialist on Nationwide Children's Hospital's inpatient pediatric behavioral health units, primarily in the Psychiatric Crisis Department (PCD) working with patients ranging from ages 4-17 experiencing various mental health diagnosis. Samantha previously held a secretary position for Ohio Recreation Therapy Association (ORTA) and is a member of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
