Biography

Kathryn Westphal, MD is a physician in the Section of Hospital Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Westphal attended medical school at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences and completed her pediatric residency training with an additional chief year at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She completed further subspecialty training through a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Her main research interest has been in improving care for hospitalized infants, specifically those infants presenting after a Brief Resolved Unexplained Event (BRUE) or with hypothermia.
