Biography

Jonathan M. Gisser, MD, is an attending pediatric gastroenterologist at Nationwide Children's and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. His clinical interest spans all of general pediatric gastroenterology, including abdominal pain, functional constipation, and inflammatory bowel diseases. Dr. Gisser's research has focused on the development of the enteric nervous system (the brain-in-the-gutĀ), which controls intestinal motility, and, more recently, the use of fecal microbiota transplantation as a treatment for gastrointestinal disease. He has presented his work at numerous national conferences and he has developed Ohio's only pediatric fecal microbiota transplantation program at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
