Biography

Brittany L. Willer, MD, is a pediatric anesthesiologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University, where she serves as Director of Research. Her clinical and academic work focuses on pediatric perioperative outcomes, healthcare disparities, and health services research, with particular expertise in social drivers of health and barriers to surgical access for children. Dr. Willer’s research has been funded through national and institutional grants, including the prestigious Society for Pediatric Anesthesia Young Investigator Grant. Her work has been published in leading journals including JAMA Network Open, Anesthesiology, Pediatrics, and Anesthesia & Analgesia, and she is nationally recognized for her work on pediatric day-of-surgery cancellations and perioperative inequities.

Dr. Willer holds several national leadership roles in pediatric anesthesiology and academic medicine. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Section on Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine for the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the Board of Directors for Partners For Kids, one of the nation’s largest pediatric accountable care organizations. In addition to her research leadership, she is deeply committed to mentorship, medical education, and advancing the academic mission of pediatric anesthesiology through trainee development, curriculum innovation, and national invited speaking engagements.
