Biography

Benjamin Blais, MD, is a pediatric interventional cardiologist for The Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Blais received his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Studio Art at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee and his medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire. He went on to complete his pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to joining The Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s, Dr. Blais spent a year working at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital as a clinical instructor and Interventional Cardiology Fellow.

Dr. Blais is active in both the Pediatric and Congenital Interventional Cardiovascular Society (PICS) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (SCAI). His clinical interests include diagnosis and management of lymphatic disorders in congenital heart disease, he has a research interest in biodegradable and bioresorbable stent technologies, and he is a professional medical illustrator.
