Biography

Arash Salavitabar, MD, is Director of Cardiac Catheterization & Interventional Therapies at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, as well as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital at Columbia University Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Resident and Chief Fellow. He then completed an advanced fellowship in Congenital Interventional Cardiology at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As the founding Director of The Heart Center XR Program, he leads the development and use of extended reality technologies for periprocedural guidance, simulation, medical education, and patient counseling. Dr. Salavitabar’s research interests include clinical trials in high-risk interventions for neonatal congenital heart disease, outcomes of transcatheter valve implantation and stent angioplasty in children and adults, and development of new transcatheter devices.
