Biography

Amanda R. Jensen, MD, MS, is a pediatric surgeon with specialized expertise in abdominal organ transplantation and complex hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery. She is among a small group of surgeons in the country who are dually trained in both pediatric surgery and transplant surgery, allowing her to provide highly advanced care to children with a wide range of surgical needs.

Dr. Jensen’s clinical focus includes solid organ abdominal transplantation, liver and pancreatic surgery, surgical oncology, pediatric colorectal surgery and general pediatric surgery. She is committed to delivering exceptional and compassionate care tailored to each child and their family. A core part of her practice is involving families in every step of the surgical decision-making process, ensuring open communication and shared trust.

Dr. Jensen received her medical degree from the University of South Dakota. She completed her general surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by fellowship training in pediatric colorectal surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She then completed a pediatric general surgery fellowship at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, and an abdominal transplantation fellowship at Stanford Health Care and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
