Children with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q) and related disorders, such as 22q11.2 duplication syndrome, have unique medical, developmental, and behavioral health needs that must be addressed by a variety of specialists beyond the traditional medical care model.  Coordinated care provided by an interdisciplinary 22q center can facilitate ease of scheduling appointments and enhance provider communication, increase support and access to resources for families, enhance standardization of care, as well as improve outcomes and family satisfaction.
