A Message from Chief Nursing Officer, Tara Floyd

As senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer, I oversee a large number of employees. As I observe these people at work, there’s something I can’t help but notice: the Nationwide Children’s team loves helping patients and their families.

The team consists of a diverse group of talented people, working together because they truly believe in the organization’s mission. They know that collaboration is key to caring for the whole child. They know that giving families hope also means giving them genuine emotional and educational support. They know that both a coloring book and a brand-new gene therapy can make huge differences to a child’s well-being.

That’s why the Nationwide Children’s promise – Your Everything Is Our Everything – rings true to me. The promise speaks to both the present and future of Nationwide Children’s.

It’s a reflection of how the team works every day. Their dedication shines through every interaction. They treat patients with an extraordinary level of care and respect.

It’s a distillation of how the team is perceived. Nationwide Children’s leaders took the time to ask not only employees but also patient families and community partners what the organization means to them. They genuinely wanted to know what Nationwide Children’s does well and what they can do better.

It’s a vow made to every family that comes to us for help. No matter whether their child is a fragile premature infant, an older teen with a chronic illness or a kid who needs a physical to join the soccer team, every family will receive the best possible treatment.

But as we look to the future, Your Everything Is Our Everything also becomes a call to action. It’s a challenge to strive for better outcomes and healthier communities. It’s a reminder that families trust us with their whole hearts every day, and we owe them our best.

Nationwide Children’s is a distinctly special place, and it’s our One Team that makes it unique.

I’m proud to count myself as part of that team.
