A graphic with a blue and orange diagonal background featuring a smartphone in the center. On the phone screen is a blue butterfly icon above the text “3 Signs of Persistent Asthma in Kids.” At the top of the image, white text reads “Nationwide Children’s Hospital YouTube Short.”

Here are 3 signs that your kid might have persistent asthma:

  1. When they’re running around and playing, they might get short of breath, they might have coughing, they might have to slow down compared to their brothers and sisters or friends.
  2. They’ve ended up on multiple courses of steroids by mouth.
  3. They have a cough that goes on much longer than everybody else in the house that gets the same crud: it goes on for days and sometimes even weeks.

See a board-certified allergist if you suspect your child might have persistent asthma.
