Rolla Abu-Arja, MD serves as BMT Section and Clinical Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant program. Dr. Rolla is a nationally known expert in malignant and non-malignant blood and bone marrow transplant and providing care for patients around the world.

Bhuvana A Setty
Bhuvana Setty, MD, is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist whose clinical interests include caring for pediatric and young adult patients with bone and soft tissue sarcoma, and patients with vascular anomalies. Her research interests include translational research to better understand the biology of these aggressive diseases. Dr. Setty is the Nationwide Children's site principal investigator for The Sunshine Project clinical trial consortium.
Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP)
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) happens when the body destroys its own platelets. Platelets are a kind of blood cell that help the blood to clot after a person gets cut or bruised. A child with ITP may have a platelet count of less than 1,000.
