PANERA’S INAUGURAL ‘CHIP IN FOR CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH’ CAMPAIGN TO BENEFIT ON OUR SLEEVES MAY 9-22

Proceeds from Panera’s famous Chocolate Chipper cookies to benefit the cause

MAY 9, 2022--Covelli Enterprises, the largest franchisee of Panera Bread, is partnering with On Our Sleeves, the movement for children’s mental health, through the launch of its inaugural Chip in for Children’s Mental Health campaign. In honor of Mental Health Awareness month, from May 9-22, a portion of proceeds from all Chocolate Chipper cookies sold at thirty-nine Covelli-owned and operated Panera Bread locations in Columbus and Central Ohio, will support this vital initiative, powered by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

“In the past several years, mental health has become a focal point in our country. The need for mental and behavioral health services are at an all-time high, especially among children and young adults,” said Albert Covelli, Covelli Enterprises Executive Director, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital Board Member. "We are very thankful to partner with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, who has had the boldness to lead the discussion nationally surrounding children’s mental health.”

“We are grateful to Covelli Enterprises for their support,” said Steve Testa, president of Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation. “They are raising much needed funds and awareness to help children and families access free mental health resources.”

On Our Sleeves, the movement for children’s mental health powered by the experts at Nationwide will also benefit during the months of May, June, July and August from the company’s Operation Dough-Nation program, which encourages customers to make monetary donations in boxes located at the register in Panera Bread bakery-cafes.

Chocolate Chipper cookies can be purchased online at www.panerabread.com or on the Panera app for Rapid Pick-Up, Curbside, Delivery, and Catering. The Panera Chocolate Chipper, a traditional favorite, is sold in all Covelli-owned and operated Panera Bread cafés. The cookie is made with semi-sweet chocolate chunks and milk chocolate flakes and is made completely free of any artificial flavors, additives, or preservatives.
