Nationwide Childrens Hospital Ranks No. 1 on Facebook Among U.S.News and Health Report Honor Roll Hospitals

Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Facebook page, facebook.com/NationwideChildrensHospital, was ranked No. 1 among the Top 10 children’s hospitals in the U.S.News and Health Report Honor Roll. Nationwide Children’s, which is No. 7 in the latest U.S.News and Health Report released in June, was recognized by eMedCert.com Sept. 22. Additionally, Nationwide Children’s ranked third on a list of the Top 75 Social Media Friendly Children’s Hospitals for 2014. The list, compiled by NurseJournal.org, was released Oct. 6.
 
In the Facebook standings, each hospital was ranked based on four categories and had an opportunity to earn a maximum of 25 points, for a total of 100 points, in each category. The four categories were Reach: Total Facebook Likes, Voice: Posts per Day, Engagement: Post Engagement Rate and Chatter: People Talking About This.
 
When the eMedCert.com poll was posted Sept. 22, Nationwide Children’s Facebook page was No. 1 in Chatter. Close to 17,000 people (16,765) were “talking” about Nationwide Children’s on Facebook during the previous 30 days. Nationwide Children’s was second in Reach as it had 172,040 “Likes.” In the Voice category, the page was third with a 1.48 average post per day. Nationwide Children’s was sixth in Engagement with about 135 interactions (“Likes,” “Comments” and “Shares”) per 1,000 page “Likes” during the previous 30 days. In all, Nationwide Children’s Facebook page totaled 92 points out of 100.
 
The list of the Top 75 Social Media Friendly Children’s Hospitals outlined the significance of social media interaction on both Facebook and Twitter. Each hospital polled could earn a maximum of 100 points, 50 points for Facebook and 50 points for Twitter. With a score of 85.3, Nationwide Children’s combined social media efforts has helped the hospital reach out to nearly 12,000 (11,853) Twitter followers with 10,663 tweets.
