Nationwide Childrens Hospital Names Orthopedic Center Lobby for Aladdin Shriners Hospital Association for Children

September 12, 2013

Nationwide Children’s Hospital has been the proud beneficiary of Aladdin Shriners Hospital Association for Children (ASHAC) for decades with gifts totaling more than $1.3 million. To honor Aladdin Shriners and thank them for their continued support, the Nationwide Children’s Orthopedic Center lobby will now be recognized as The Aladdin Shriners Hospital Association for Children Lobby.

The mission of ASCHAC aligns with Nationwide Children’s as it provides care to all children, regardless of the family’s ability to pay.

The impact of the gifts from Aladdin Shriners has been tremendous over the years. In 1979, the local chapter made its first donation and was a pioneer organization that established endowed funds at Nationwide Children’s. The organization established three endowments in the early 1980’s – two to support crippled and burned children, and one to support the Rehabilitation Center at Nationwide Children’s.

Through the years, the interest and investment income of the endowments have been used to support everything from paying for children’s medical care to providing toys and recreational supplies for the Rehabilitation program.

About Aladdin Shriners
For more than 109 years, the Aladdin Shriners organization has been treating children locally in Columbus through a special organization called The Aladdin Shriners Hospital Association for Children. The association was established to provide medical attention, evaluation and equipment at no cost to patients or families in need.
