On Friday, October 14, Macy’s will present a $20,000 donation to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.  Earlier this summer, Macy’s donated more than 2,000 limited edition bears to the patients at Nationwide Children’s. This is the second year that Macy’s has been a part of the Memorial Tournament’s Bears for Children’s program.

The Bears for Children’s campaign, which took place at participating central Ohio Macy’s locations, ran in June during the Memorial Tournament. Bears were donated to Nationwide Children’s from patron purchases of $100 or more on Memorial Tournament-related merchandise.

Since 1976, the Memorial Tournament has raised more than $6.5 million to support the programs and services at Nationwide Children’s. In May of 2005, the Memorial Tournament announced a multi-year pledge with Nationwide Children’s, extending a successful 30-year partnership with the hospital as the Tournament’s primary charitable beneficiary. In recognition of the Memorial’s pledge, which will elevate their level of giving to more than $11 million in the coming years, Nationwide Children’s dedicated its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in honor of the Tournament.
