Volunteer Opportunities Available for the 2010 Memorial Tournament Benefitting Nationwide Childrens Hospital

April 27, 2010

The 2010 Memorial Tournament is not only a great opportunity to watch the world’s greatest golfers in action, but also a great chance to help give back to the central Ohio community. Every year, with the help of volunteers, this tournament is made possible, and this year is no different. The Women’s Division of the Memorial Tournament is looking for volunteers to help make this another successful tournament.

There are several areas that are in need of volunteers:

  • Bears for Children’s Weekend – May 21-23
  • Bears for Children’s – Tournament week
  • Concessions
  • Hospitality – Hospitality Village, Sky Suites, Shuttle Drop-Off and Sports Ohio
  • Memorial Patron Will Call
  • Spectator Relations – Gates and Souvenirs
  • Status Boards – On-course and Press Room

The 2010 Memorial Tournament runs from Monday, May 31 through Sunday, June 6.

The Women’s Division of the Memorial Tournament, a Nationwide Children’s Hospital Women’s Auxiliary Committee, is responsible for coordinating thousands of volunteers who are essential to the success of this golf tournament. The Women’s Division recruits, schedules and manages volunteers throughout tournament week to make it one of the best-run tournaments on the PGA circuit.

In 2009, more than $480,000 was donated to Nationwide Children’s as a result of the countless hours worked by volunteers. Since the tournament’s inception in 1976, the Memorial Tournament volunteers have raised more than $8 million for Nationwide Children’s.
