Culvers Gives Back To Columbus by Hosting National

April 28, 2009

Culvers® of Columbus, Powell and Reynoldsburg are among nearly 400 Culvers Restaurants donating 10 percent of sales on Tuesday, May 12, to local organizations during the annual system-wide "Day of Giving" fundraising event. Locally, Nationwide Children's Hospital is the organization benefiting from this years "Day of Giving." Building on last years success, Culvers national fundraising goal for the one-day event is $200,000.

"It is truly a fulfilling experience to participate in a program that directly benefits our local community," said Mark Johnston of Culvers® of Columbus. "While we strive to reach our fundraising goal, building community awareness for the charity and fostering relationships are equally as important."

Culvers "Day of Giving" provides an opportunity to better understand the mission of Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation, raise funds, and develop volunteer support. Members of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation will be on hand to answer questions and discuss how guests contributions directly impact the local community. One hundred percent of money raised remains with the local organization.

"Just as Culvers honors guests who visit our restaurants, we truly want to honor the fine organizations that meet the needs of its community members everyday," said Lea Culver, co-founder of Culvers. "Through the kind generosity of our guests during the Day of Giving, we provide support to help continue these efforts. Thanks to everyone in the local community that makes this day a success."
