Nationwide Children's Hospital Wins Web Awards

January 4, 2008

Nationwide Childrens Hospital has recently won four Web site awards in two national competitions coordinated by The Web Marketing Association and Health Care Communications.

More than 2,400 sites from 40 countries entered 96 industry categories during The Web Marketing Associations WebAward competition for Web site development. Nationwide Childrens Hospital was presented with the Standard of Excellence for Advocacy award in which advocacy Web site winners are selected using seven criteria:  design, ease of use, copywriting, interactivity, use of technology, innovation and content.

The Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and development of the best Web sites on the World Wide Web. The WebAwards is the premier annual Web site award competition that names the best Web sites while setting the standard of excellence for all Web site development.  The WebAwards provides a benchmark by which all Web site development can be judged.

Nationwide Childrens also won three eHealthcare Leadership Awards for hospitals with 200-399 beds, presented by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, a leading Internet resource published by Health Care Communications:  an eBusiness category Gold award; a Corporate Business Improvement Site category Silver award; and a Best Employee Recruitment category Gold award.

More than 1,100 entries were received from a wide range of healthcare organizations for the  eHealthcare Leadership Awards.  Organizations had the opportunity to enter under one of 17 classifications to compete against others of comparable type, size, and resources in 12 different award categories.  This leading awards program exclusively recognizes the very best Web sites of healthcare providers, health plans, healthcare associations, online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical equipment firms, suppliers, other healthcare organizations, and business improvement initiatives. These awards highlight the Internet's role in achieving an organization's business objectives and recognize the hard work that has gone into creating outstanding health Web sites.
