"Rockin on the Run" 5K Run/Walk Slated for May 19

The third annual “Rockin’ on the Run” 5K run/walk and family day will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Madison County Fairgrounds in London. All proceeds benefit Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Since its inception two years ago, Rockin’ on the Run has raised nearly $12,000 for pediatric brain tumor research.

The 5K run/walk course starts and ends at the fairgrounds located at 205 Elm St. in London. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. in the Commercial Building with the race beginning at 10 a.m. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash.

Through Sunday, May 6, registration is $15 and includes a t-shirt and goodie bag. Beginning Monday, May 7 through the day of the event, the entry fee is $20. For participants who sign up the day of the race, t-shirts will be available on a first come, first served basis. Children age 2 and under are free.

The event also features food, family-friendly games and entertainment and a silent auction. Participants are encouraged to stick around after the run/walk as activities will continue through 2 p.m. Local recording artist Tim Omark will perform during the event (www.timomarkmusic.com).
