Germain of Columbus, Reach Out and Read to Accept Book Donations on Behalf of Nationwide Childrens Hospital

April 4, 2016

Germain of Columbus will partner with Reach Out and Read to accept book donations on behalf of Nationwide Children’s Hospital from April 1-30. Donations can be made at any of the five local Germain dealerships. (See locations below).

“We are so grateful to Germain of Columbus and the Reach Out and Read program for their generosity and enthusiasm,” said Jim Digan, president of the Nationwide Children’s Foundation. “As part of serving the integrative needs of our patients, Nationwide Children’s strives to promote and maintain each child’s developmental health as well, and this initiative is a great support to our mission and values.”

Additionally, for every vehicle sold, Germain of Columbus will donate $50 towards the purchase of books for patients at Nationwide Children’s.

“Germain of Columbus proudly supports Nationwide Children’s Hospital,” said Rick Germain, president of Germain of Columbus. “Providing additional support to the Reach Out and Read program is important to us because reading is the most essential building block for education, and we are glad to contribute resources that will help establish that foundation for families in need.”

New picture and board book donations are recommended for the infant and toddler age groups. Children’s books, up to a fifth-grade reading level, and chapter books for young adults, also are appropriate and should be in good condition and refrain from containing religious and/or sensitive topics.

To help kick-off the collaboration, Germain of Columbus employees and their families volunteered sorting books that will be provided to patients.
