Biography

Sally J. Smith, DO, is a dedicated night time pediatric radiologist at Nationwide Children's Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Smith received her medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001 and completed her internship and residency with Doctors Hospital/ Ohio Health from 2002- 2006. She also completed her fellowship here at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Dr. Smith practiced daytime General Pediatric Radiology with a focus on Nuclear Medicine and Pediatric Bone Density Imaging prior to accepting a night time position in late 2016. In addition to daily clinical and academic duties, she accepted and performed various additional departmental roles, including Section Chief of General Radiology, Interim Section Chief of Ultrasound and designated Pediatric DXA Section Coordinator.

Notable accomplishments include coordination and publication of the e-Atlas ‘Radiographic Atlas of the Pediatric Urethra’, integration and institution of ultrasound elastography and qCT for CT evaluation of pediatric bone density. Dr. Smith currently enjoys the challenge of a rapidly growing night-time pediatric emergency imaging practice and the clinical radiology focus that emergent night time pediatric radiology requires.
