Biography

Roshini Abraham, PhD, is currently the Associate Chief of Academic Affairs and Founding Director of the Diagnostic Immunology Laboratory in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH. She was the founding Director of the Cellular and Molecular Immunology Laboratory in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN from 2005-2018, and Professor of Medicine, and Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. 

She received her PhD in Immunology in 1996 from the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, India, and completed post-doctoral fellowships in Immunology (1996-2000), and Clinical Immunology and Biochemistry (2000-2002) at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and was on faculty at the Mayo Clinic from 2002-2018. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology (ABMLI), and a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI). She is the current President of the Clinical Immunology Society (CIS; 2017-2019) and has been active in the field of clinical diagnostic immunology, developing flow cytometry assays for immunodeficiencies and immune monitoring in post-transplant settings, and molecular immunology testing including next generation sequencing assays for primary immunodeficiencies and immune dysegulatory diseases. She has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, book chapters and abstracts. She is a member of the Board of Scientific Counselors of the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center, and is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Immunology (JOCI).
