Biography

Nathan M. Lutz, PhD, is a clinical psychologist with specialized training in child-clinical psychology, specifically focusing on 1) parenting interventions that strengthen relationships and attachments between children and their caregivers while also informing caregivers about evidence-based techniques for managing disruptive behaviors and other challenges and 2) trauma-informed and trauma-focused interventions. He has developed his clinical skills working with patients and families across the lifespan in eleven different clinics in four major metropolitan areas (Chicago, IL; Memphis, TN; Cincinnati, OH; and Columbus, OH).

Currently, he works at the Center for Family Safety and Healing both in the Fostering Connections Program (FCP) and the Family Support Program (FSP). In FCP, he acts as a mental and behavioral health consultant during medical visits and helps to make appropriate referrals and bridge therapy service needs for children and families. In FSP, he delivers trauma-focused interventions, including PCIT, to children and adolescents on a weekly/biweekly outpatient basis.

He has prioritized delivering education and training as part of his clinical practice and is certified as a Within-Agency (Level I) Trainer by PCIT International, allowing him to train and certify new PCIT therapists within his institution. He aims to utilize his training and experiences in specialized interventions, education, symptom measurement, and symptom tracking to deliver effective interventions and empower the next generation of psychologists to do the same.
