Melissa Argraves, MD, MSEd, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Rheumatology at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University. She serves as Associate Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for graduate medical education and Associate Program Director of the pediatric rheumatology fellowship.
Dr. Argraves completed medical school at the University of Connecticut and her residency and fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where she also earned a Master’s in Medical Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
She cares for children with all types of rheumatic diseases, with a particular interest in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and the extraintestinal symptoms they may experience. Dr. Argraves is leading initiatives to strengthen collaboration between Rheumatology and the Pediatric and Adolescent IBD Center at Nationwide Children's, and to improve transition of care processes for adolescents and young adults with rheumatic conditions. Her approach to care is holistic and patient- and family-centered.
She is dedicated to educating healthcare professionals across disciplines about pediatric rheumatic diseases and is deeply committed to mentoring young physicians as they explore and pursue their professional passions. She firmly believes there is always Rheum to grow!
