Biography

Mai-Lan Ho, MD, is Professor of Radiology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University and has additionally served as Director of Radiology Research, Director of the Translational Imaging Core, Director of the Advanced Neuroimaging Core, Faculty Lead of the Imaging Genomics Research Affinity Group, Chair of the Asian Pacific American Network, and Secretary of the Association for Staff and Faculty Women. She is an internationally recognized physician leader, scientist, and educator who specializes in translational advanced imaging and precision health. Dr. Ho completed her undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at Stanford University, graduate training at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and medical school at Washington University in St. Louis.  She then pursued a diagnostic radiology residency in the Scholar’s Track at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, with mini-fellowships in body MRI and musculoskeletal radiology.  Following pediatric and head/neck imaging experience at Boston Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Dr. Ho completed her neuroradiology training and a chief fellowship in pediatric neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Ho is lead author of the textbook Neuroradiology Signs; editor of The AAWR Pocket Mentor and Pediatric Neuroimaging: State-of-the-Art; and engages broadly in diversity, inclusion, and global initiatives. Her society recognitions include the Anne G. Osborn International Outreach and International Imaging Series Professorships from the American Society of Neuroradiology; Collaborative Travel Grant from Karolinska Institutet; Women’s Pilot Workshop and Council of Early Career Investigators in Imaging from the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research; Pilot Award and Research Fellow Award from the Society for Pediatric Radiology; Siemens Healthineers Research Scholar Grant, William W. Olmsted Editorial Fellowship, Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award, and Bracco Diagnostics Research Resident Grant from the Radiological Society of North America; William N. Hanafee Research Grant from the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology; Katherine A. Shaffer Award and Lucy Frank Squire Award from the American Association for Women Radiologists; Gabriel H.
