Biography

Leeran Dublin-Ryan, PhD, MS, CGC, is a board-certified genetic counselor who specializes in rare disease clinical research within the Institute for Genomic Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital. They earned their PhD from Washington University in Saint Louis in 2021 where they studied the effects of chaperone modulation on protein folding and prion formation. They earned their Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Bay Path University in 2023. Leeran began working as a research genetic counselor within IGM in April of 2023. Their work involves managing enrollment and results return for three translational studies focused on defining the genetic underpinnings of rare disease, immune dysfunction, childhood cancer, and overgrowth conditions. Leeran especially enjoys meeting with families about genetic research, assisting them in making decisions about their genetic care, and helping them better understand the utility of genetic testing and discovery. They are consistently astonished by the strength and resilience exhibited by the families they work with and are honored to work with them every day.
