Biography

Julie Racine, PhD, joined the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Ophthalmology Department in 2011 as director of the Visual Electrophysiology Clinic. Julie works closely with Nationwide Children's faculty, residents, staff and medical providers to provide state-of-the-art visual electrophysiology testing for children and adults with visual impairments. She is also involved in providing visual electrophysiology training to ophthalmologists and optometrists at The Ohio State University.

In her free time, Julie teaches the importance of eye health to school aged children all over the state of Ohio, through the Realeyes program. Julie is also the program director of the Ohio Amblyope Registry (OAR), the first and only state-wide program that provides education and support to Ohio families with children diagnosed with amblyopia. Prior to joining Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Julie was the Visual Electrophysiologist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Julie received her bachelor degree (BSc) in animal physiology from Université de Montréal and her doctorate degree (PhD) in neurological sciences from McGill University.
