Biography

Jennifer A. Muszynski, MD, MPH, FCCM is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She is the associate program director for research for the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program.

Dr. Muszynski’s primary area of research focuses on the immunobiology of pediatric critical illness and effects of blood product transfusion. She is the Chair of the Pediatric Critical Care Blood Research Network (BloodNet) subgroup of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) research network. Her ongoing clinical and translational studies are aimed at dissecting complex interactions between host immune cell function, inflammation, blood product transfusion, and clinical outcomes in children with sepsis, trauma, acute lung injury and multiple organ dysfunction.
