Biography

Emily Hayes, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics and a pediatric cardiologist for The Heart Center. She serves as the Medical Director of Cardiomyopathy and as the Cardiac Director of the Neuromuscular Disorders section of The Neurosciences Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Dr. Hayes completed her undergraduate work at the University of Kentucky and medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She then completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital followed by cardiology and heart failure/transplantation fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Her clinical and research interests include improving long term outcomes following heart transplantation and the care of cardiomyopathy in patients with muscular dystrophy, including the use of advanced cardiac therapies. She is board certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Cardiology.
