Colin A. Winkie, MD

Colin Winkie, MD, is an attending pediatric gastroenterologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Winkie earned his medical degree and completed his pediatric residency at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at Nationwide Children’s.

His clinical interests include general pediatric gastroenterology, with a focus on caring for children and adolescents with IBD. He is certified through the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS) in intestinal ultrasound and has a particular interest in expanding its use in pediatric IBD to improve disease monitoring and inform clinical decision-making. His clinical and research interests also include clinical informatics, with a focus on improving GI clinical workflows, standardizing care, and facilitating evidence-based practice. Dr. Winkie is an active member of the iUSCAN Pediatric Committee and the NASPGHAN Technology Committee and represents the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition on the Nationwide Children’s POCUS Quality Committee.
