Biography

Caroline Murphy, PhD is the Associate Chief of the Section of Psychology at Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Associate Chief of the Division of Pediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. As one of the Clinical Directors for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Child Development Center, she focuses on program development and quality improvement in care for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families. Within her work as an Epic® Physician Builder, she collaborates with professionals locally and nationally in developing electronic medical record design to support clinical efficiency and clarity, quality and safety, health equity, and best outcomes. She is the Associate Director of Internship in Professional Psychology – Supervision and, for more than 15 years, has led professional development and didactic training in Clinical Supervision for trainees and faculty across the Section of Psychology. Throughout her career, she has concentrated on improving health equity for marginalized and underserved populations and has been actively involved in rural health network development, teaching implicit bias mitigation strategies to staff and faculty at Nationwide Children’s and The Ohio State University, and developing informatics and quality improvement initiatives targeted specifically to better reach and support families living with multiple barriers to care.

Dr. Murphy received her doctoral degree in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology from Ohio University in 2005. She completed her residency in Rural Primary Care at the University of Florida College of Health and Health Professions and her fellowship in School-Based Mental Health and Rural Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology at Ohio University. Additionally, she has completed advanced training in leadership, clinical informatics, clinical supervision, multicultural competencies, and quality improvement.
