Andrew H. Tran, MD, MS, MPH

Andrew Tran, MD, MPH, MS, is director of Preventive Cardiology and an associate professor in The Heart Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital, helping to care for children with cholesterol disorders, hypertension, and congenital heart disease. Before joining Nationwide Children's, Dr. Tran completed his cardiology fellowship in Dallas, TX at the University of Texas Southwestern and a preventive cardiology fellowship in Cincinnati, OH at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He obtained his Master of Public Health in Clinical Translational Science from The Ohio State University.

As director of Preventive Cardiology, Dr. Tran leads a multidisciplinary team to care for children with lipid disorders, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Tran’s research and clinical work focus on understanding the impact of cardiovascular risk factors on children, improving the implementation of evidence-based care for treating children and families, and improving patient access to cardiovascular preventive care.

He is a co-author of scientific statements from the American Heart Association on pediatric hypertension, pediatric ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and implementation science. Dr. Tran has also served on national committees/work groups for the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, International Pediatric Hypertension Association, North American Artery Association, and the American Society of Preventive Cardiology.
