Biography

Amy Whitesel, PhD, MSSA, LCSW-C, is a Senior Research Project Manager in the Center for Perinatal Research and Center for Biobehavioral Health at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute. Dr. Whitesel earned her BA in Psychology from The Ohio State University, MSSA from Case Western Reserve University, and her doctorate in social work from Howard University. After more than 20 years working on a longitudinal study of birth and adoptive families, Dr. Whitesel joined Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2023 to focus on the launch of the ECHO Program (Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes), a NIH funded research program designed to study the effect of early environmental factors on health and development.
