Biography

Amber Herman, DNP, PMHNP-BC is a psychiatric nurse practitioner in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, working primarily on the Neurobehavioral Inpatient Unit at the Behavioral Health Pavilion. Additionally, she is a faculty member of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Post-Graduate Fellowship. Her area of clinical interest and expertise is in pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders.

Amber received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Chatham University. She worked as a registered nurse for six years on the Autism and Intellectual Disabilities Unit at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2018 she graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Robert Morris University, specializing as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Her graduate thesis focused on seclusion and restraint reduction in the acute psychiatric setting.
