Biography

Aaron Betts, MD, Dr. Aaron Betts specializes in Pediatric Neuroradiology, which includes imaging of the brain, spine, and structures of the head/neck. Dr. Betts is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology, Neuroradiology, and Pediatric Radiology. Areas of interest within pediatric neuroradiology include neuro-oncology, abusive head trauma, facial and orbital trauma, and advanced neuroimaging (including functional MRI and brain perfusion imaging). Dr. Betts has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Dayton. He earned Doctor of Optometry and Master of Science degrees from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He then entered active duty in the United States Army and served as an Optometrist/Medical Service Corps officer. He then attended medical school at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He completed a Transitional Internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington and Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He subsequently completed Army sponsored fellowships in Neuroradiology at the University of Cincinnati and Pediatric Neuroradiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He served as a Staff Neuroradiologist and Section Chief for MRI at Brooke Army Medical Center. During his time as an Army Neuroradiologist, Dr. Betts deployed to Iraq serving as a Diagnostic Radiologist for a multinational coalition in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Dr. Betts retired from the United States Army in 2024. He currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife and children.
