Karen Rediger, AYA ProgramKaren Rediger received a bachelor's of arts in social work from Ohio University in 2002 and her master's of science in social administration from Case Western Reserve University in 2004. In 2006 Rediger was certified as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) and received her Supervisor designation (LISW-S) in 2008. Prior to coming to Nationwide Children's Hospital in 2001, Rediger worked with children, families, and adults in the areas of mental health therapy, behavior modification, and hospice. Rediger joined Nationwide Children's in May 2011 in the area of organ and tissue donation and transitioned to the hematology/oncology/bmt department in October 2012. Currently Rediger provides social work services to oncology patients with a strong passion for working with adolescents and young adults.

Paula Sanborn, AYA ProgramPaula Sanborn received her Associates of Science degree in Nursing from Otterbein College in 1986 and her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Otterbein College in 1990. She joined Nationwide Children’s in 1985 as a unit secretary in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit then joined the nursing staff as a registered nurse on the Infectious Disease Unit in 1986. Paula has worked as a Float Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Educator, and Hematology/Oncology/BMT leadership. She joined the Sarcoma Team in 2011 as the Sarcoma Nurse Clinician. In this role, she coordinates the onboarding process of new sarcoma patients, coordinating with the Sarcoma Team, arranging discharge teaching and follow up care. Paula holds certification through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.  She is a member of The National Coalition of Oncology Nurse Navigators, The Oncology Nursing Society, The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses and Critical Mass: The Young Adult Cancer Alliance. Paula enjoys working with adolescents and young adults.
