Biography

 

Edward G. Shepherd, MD, is the Section Chief of Neonatology at Nationwide Children's Hospital and a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Shepherd serves as Medical Director of Critical Care Transport, Medical Director of Neonatal Network Respiratory Therapy, and Interim Medical Director of the Comprehensive Center for Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia Outpatient Clinic. Dr. Shepherd's clinical interests focus on bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and developmental care of the vulnerable infant.

Dr. Shepherd's research focus relates to BPD and optimizing neurodevelopmental care, and he is currently involved in several studies of the diagnosis and progression of BPD as well as the best developmental care for infants so afflicted. Dr. Shepherd regularly presents national and international invited lectures, most recently focusing on the management of the most severe forms of BPD
