When to refer to Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology:

  • All common gynecological diagnoses
  • Prepubertal: anatomic, vaginitis, vaginal bleeding, skin changes, pain
  • Post-pubertal: abnormal bleeding, dysmenorrhea, chronic pain, complex contraceptive needs, reproductive outcomes associated with complex medical conditions
  • Surgical: adnexal masses, ovarian cysts/tumors/neoplasms, mullerian and vaginal anomalies, hymenal variants, sedated IUD insertions, laparoscopy for chronic pain
